WHO

1427 Church, The Caring Place (Mrs. Mary Griffin), and community partners. The Caring Place, situated in the heart of Allentown, is a community center dedicated to the development and service of all members of the Lehigh Valley community. 

WHY

To help 1427 Church and other local organizations connect with community members, while also engaging people in the community with games, food, activities, prayer, and gospel conversations. 

WHAT

Join The Caring Place in celebrating its 30th Anniversary Celebration by hosting a dynamic, community-focused event. When you sign up for this volunteer opportunity, you will be assigned a specific role on Saturday upon arrival. Roles are diverse and span three floors and the outside area, ensuring every volunteer finds a place to make an impact.

Volunteer tasks include:

• Community Engagement: Serve free food, providing crowd guidance and safety, welcome guests at information desks, direct guests to free haircuts, and support community-focused activities like health screenings.
• Family & Fun: Lead interactive experiences for children in the Kids Zone (games) and Kids Science Demonstration, run the photo booth, and guide guests through the Harold Boyer African American Museum.
• Spiritual Health: 1427 children activities, active Bible stories, prayer area, and space for Q&A.
• Event Support: Assist main stage activities (performances and cooking demonstrations), support culinary students in the kitchen, manage vendor setup, and provide overall administrative or floating support wherever needed.

• Pray for the cities and surrounding areas of the Lehigh Valley and for your ministry efforts
