WMU Podcast

Our partners at the Woman’s Missionary Union (WMU) are now offering a new resource for women and those who just need to hear an encouraging word!

New podcast offers inspiration, missional leadership

WMU launched a new podcast in May with initial episodes designed to offer hope and encouragement amid much uncertainty related to the COVID-19 pandemic.

On the Journey Conversations is hosted by Sandy Wisdom-Martin, executive director of national WMU.

“Our prayer is this podcast inspires listeners to go deeper in their Christian faith walk,” she said. “It is designed to offer an extensive array of thought leaders who will provide personalized perspectives as they show us what it means to follow Christ.”

Topics so far have included ways to give and receive hope, dealing with anxiety, loving God with your mind, visionary leadership, following God’s call, grief, Alzheimer’s disease, and racial reconciliation, just to name a few.

“I think critical topics of the moment are important, so we will explore emotional and mental health topics in addition to spiritual issues,” Wisdom-Martin said. “We will touch a bit on historical leadership as well as best practices for today. I believe we all should be on a lifelong quest of learning, growing, and developing as leaders. I want there to be something for every listener every time.”

Now four months into hosting, Wisdom-Martin said one of the aspects she enjoys most is getting a peek inside the lives and views of intriguing Christian leaders.

“I find them to be transparent and incredibly authentic,” she reflected. “Every interview leaves me with nuggets of information and wisdom that improves my outlook, challenges my perspective or inspires. And each person I interview leaves me wanting to know more.”

Sponsored by the Christian Women’s Leadership Center of WMU, On the Journey Conversations is available on three platforms: Apple Podcasts, Spotify and Google Podcasts. A new episode is available each Wednesday. Each episode ranges around 15-30 minutes in length.
