CHESTERFIELD, NJ, (BRN) – Fellowship CrossPoint’s event was a winter retreat that we had planned for our youth group.

This retreat took place Jan. 19-21 at Black Rock Retreat Center in Quarryville, Pennsylvania. The theme of the retreat was RESCUED, looking at how Jesus is a rescuer from John 9-10 and how Jesus can rescue these students and be their Good Shepherd.

We sought additional funds from the Baptist Resource Network (BRN) through an Evangelism Grant to open up the retreat to students who do not know Jesus and to students who were in need. Of the 28 students we brought, I’d say that 1/3 of them are new to Christianity, and there were multiple who took steps of faith during the retreat. The ability to get away without their phones helped things to connect.

During the retreat, the gospel was shared multiple times through the teaching sessions and in small groups. Though we do not know of any students who accepted Christ during the retreat, we are certain that seeds were planted in the hearts of many young people who are new to Christianity.
