PHILADELPHIA (BRN) – St. John Memorial Baptist Church experienced another successful street outreach of taking Jesus to the Streets on March 29.

Prior to the event, pastors and their membership combined with Philadelphia police to pray for transformation of the community, for gun violence, for lost souls to be saved and for poverty.

Good Friday morning began with a prayer breakfast and then leaving St. John Memorial Baptist Church convoy style, escorted by Philadelphia police public relations officers.

We had a timely arrival at our first of four stops: Broad and Olney, a heavily transit hub. We had prayer stations, a preaching trailer equipped with podium, a sound system, drums and keyboard and an additional trailer with giveaways, such as food, household items, paper products, books and more.

We had prayer, praise dancers, singing, and preaching of the gospel right there in the street. We proceeded to the remaining three stops: Road and Hunting Park, Broad and Allegheny and, finally, we culminated at Broad and Lehigh.

Throughout the day, we saw 85 people take an interest in our street evangelism and a total of 17 accept Christ! We also received many requests to visit other neighborhoods.
