PHILADELPHIA (BRN) – With the support of a Baptist Resource Network (BRN) Evangelism Grant, the Baptist Campus Ministries at Drexel University in Philadelphia were able to successfully hold two The Chosen watch party events, both of which included food and a welcoming, low-pressure environment.

During each event, the collegiate ministry incorporated a short presentation to give students helpful context about the show, including background on the biblical characters and stories being portrayed. They focused their discussions on clips from Episodes six and eight, connecting them to passages from John 4 and Luke 5.

After watching, leaders in the ministry facilitated small group discussions using guided questions, which allowed students to open up more and engage thoughtfully with the material.

While attendance was smaller than hoped, the events offered meaningful opportunities to connect spiritually with those who came, and provided a space for additional time together afterward as a larger group, building community beyond the structured event.
