BRN Evangelism Grant: Grove Community Church serves local families through block party

Grove Community Church in Selinsgrove, Pa., utilized a BRN Evangelism Grant to host a block party for their community, where they engaged in gospel conversations and provided local families with a night of fun.

On June 19, Grove Community Church in Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania, invited the Selinsgrove community to a summer night of family fun.

At the event, we rented a bouncy castle and provided snow cones, hot dogs and cotton candy to everyone who came. This was the third block party we have done in the past three years, and last year we had a total of 10 people come.

This year, with the partnership of the Baptist Resource Network (BRN) and the use of an evangelism grant, we had 65 people from the community come and enjoy a summer evening of fun. While the kids were playing kickball or bouncing, we engaged the parents/guardians, invited them to church and offered prayer.

Additionally, there were picnic tables under a pavilion, and as we enjoyed food, we got into organic gospel conversations. What was cool was that no one shared alone. People sat with other members of Grove to love those at their table.

It was such a sweet evening of locking arms with brothers and sisters for the sake of the Kingdom!
