NEW KENSINGTON, Pa., (BRN) – Reclamation Church in New Kensington, Pennsylvania, kicked off our VBS week with a neighborhood wide block party!
Due to weather, we had to cancel our June Block Party, so adding one the Sunday before VBS started just made sense!
We had bounce houses, obstacle course, snow cones, cotton candy and lots of food. We gave out over 250 hot dogs and hamburgers and saw hundreds of people come out from the neighborhood.
Our church got to meet so many neighbors and tell them about our church and share the Good News of Jesus with them. We estimate that 300 people attended our block party and that we had 80 gospel conversations during the event.
With the help from a team of 38 people from Englewood Baptist Church in Rocky Mount, North Carolina, one of our amazing church partners, we were able to bless our neighborhood and get the word out about our church plant.
