COATESVILLE, Pa., (BRN) – We are incredibly grateful for the support of the Baptist Resource Network (BRN), which helped make possible a deeply impactful month of evangelism and community engagement centered around Easter at Providence Church in Coatesville, Pennsylvania.
With the $500 grant, Providence Church Coatesville launched several outreach efforts designed to build relationships, meet needs and share the gospel with our city.
Our outreach began at Coatesville High School, where we served a light breakfast to teachers, faculty and staff in the staff conference room. Each guest received a journal, a bag of coffee and a warm invitation to our Easter service. This simple gesture was met with heartfelt appreciation and it opened doors for meaningful conversations.
In the week leading up to Easter, we hosted an Easter outfit distribution for 60 families in our community. We were able to bless children with brand new Easter outfits and Easter baskets, helping families celebrate with dignity and joy.
On the Saturday before Easter, we took over two local laundromats and paid for people’s laundry – covering about 50 loads. Volunteers engaged with our neighbors, offered encouragement, prayed with those who were open and shared the hope of Christ.
On Easter Sunday, we rented a larger venue to accommodate our growing reach. About 160 people attended our “Road to Redemption” Easter service, which highlighted the path Jesus walked to bring us salvation. The morning included a children’s story, a family photo booth and a warm, welcoming environment. We were thrilled to see many first-time guests, and the gospel was clearly presented both during the service and throughout our outreach events.
The Sunday after Easter, we held a Newcomers Luncheon for all those who expressed interest in learning more about our church and the message of Jesus.
We’re excited to continue building on the connections we’ve made and to disciple those who are taking their next steps toward Christ.
