Are your ladies beginning to wilt with mid-winter doldrums? It happens! Here’s an event suggestion that just may lift their spirits:

At Christian House, the women plan a Ladies’ Tea about this time of year, when outdoor activities are more difficult but we need a little “sunshine.” The date and time is set. The fellowship hall is decorated in pretty spring colors. The coffee pot is on. The punch bowl is full. A light lunch is prepared, along with yummy desserts (after all, it’s a rule that women’s events MUST include chocolate!).

We hold a creative competition, requesting that each attendee bring their own place setting. This ranges from picnic wear and checkered placemat and napkin to porcelain teacups and saucers, frilly placemats and cloth napkins. Once we’ve all taken our seats around the table we pray, vote on the most creative setting—of course, a door prize is awarded—then enjoy our meal. Susie, our women’s Bible study teacher, then leads the group in a devotional. We play silly games, gab, giggle, and end the event enjoying our sweet treats.

This is such a simple event to plan, but I guarantee that every woman in attendance leaves with a spring in their step and a smattering of sunshine in their smiles.
