Hello BRN Family! It’s great to be with you today!

Last week I spoke about WHY a movement of prayer must begin now and why prayer cannot wait. Today I want to talk about what happens when we pray and how a movement of prayer begins.

What Happens When We Pray:

A movement of prayer is not merely about increasing the number of prayers spoken—it is about transforming the hearts of those who pray. When God’s people commit to prayer:

• Alignment replaces anxiety. We stop asking God to bless our plans and begin seeking His.
• Dependency replaces self-sufficiency. We trade our strength for His power.
• Expectancy replaces routine. We begin looking for God to move in ways only He can.
• Unity replaces division. Prayer brings people together around what matters most—the Lord Himself.

And as prayer grows, spiritual momentum builds. What starts in one heart spreads to a few, then to a church, then to a community. Before long, prayer is no longer an event on a calendar—it becomes the culture of God’s people. Did you hear that, the culture amongst God’s people!

How a Movement of Prayer Begins:

Movements rarely start with crowds. They start with someone—someone burdened, someone longing, someone willing.

A movement of prayer begins when ordinary Christ-followers decide that seeking God is not optional but essential.

Here are simple ways to spark that movement:

• Set a personal rhythm of prayer. Begin your day seeking God’s presence and direction.
• Gather others. Start with two or three. Movements often begin in living rooms, not auditoriums.
• Pray specifically. Ask God for renewal in your own heart, your church, and your community.
• Pray expectantly. Look for where God is stirring and join Him there.
• Pray persistently. Great movements grow through consistent, faithful prayer.

The goal isn’t to create prayer events—it’s to cultivate a praying people.

The Movement Starts With Us:

If the Church is to experience renewal, if our communities are to see transformation, if the next generation is to experience awakening—it will happen because God’s people humbled themselves and prayed.

There is an urgency today that cannot be ignored. God is inviting His Church to return to the place of power, the place of surrender, the place of communion with Him. 2 Chronicles 7:14 reminds us: “if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”

A movement of prayer doesn’t begin somewhere else.

It begins right where you are.
It begins with the burden God has placed in your heart to pray.
It begins with a simple step to faithfully pray.

Lord, teach us to pray.
Lord, teach us to seek You.
And, Lord please let a movement of prayer begin in us.
