PHILADELPHIA (BRN) – Story College Church’s Glow in the Dark Sports was a great time to welcome new students to Drexel and engage in spiritual conversations with students from a variety of backgrounds!
During the event, students rotated between glow-in-the-dark volleyball, soccer, frisbee and spike ball, filling the fields with energy. We also created a cozy space in our fairy light canopy section with board games, which became a welcoming space for students to relax and get to know one another in smaller groups through casual conversation. We had 90 new students join us for this event.
Our event was supported by 12 church mentors and eight student helpers, who worked together to create a warm, inviting atmosphere. Many of the students who came were people we had already met through our previous campus tabling. Reconnecting in this new setting allowed us to have deeper, more meaningful conversations.
In total, our team had eight spiritual conversations, with several students expressing genuine interest in follow-up discussions. Many students (Christian and non-Christian) were surprisingly open to talking about God and spiritual topics, even asking about personal testimonies.
Thank you to BRN for helping meet a lot of freshmen students and sharing God’s love with them. We are hopeful that this will be the start of many spiritual journeys here on the Drexel University campus, especially for non-Christian students.
