PETROLIA, Pa., (BRN) – We are so grateful for the evangelism funds that the Baptist Resource Network (BRN) provided, which enabled us to reach out with the gospel to a wide range of communities in the greater Petroleum Valley area. We would not have been able to accomplish all that we had without the BRN’s help.
We know we are able to share the gospel in our church – it’s always priority #1. The challenge is how to get people through the door, and how to let our communities know we are here for them.
Each outreach is designed to meet both challenges, and this year’s Christmas dinner event was no different. This has been a popular and successful effort in the past, but not so this time due to unforeseen complications.
At the last minute we had to switch gears, and instead of delivering multiple dinners, we provided gift cards to the six families that had been able to register with us. Each one was delivered personally to their homes, and we spent time getting to know them and sharing the gospel with them face-to-face.
While the results of the recent Christmas dinner outreach were less than expected, I like to think of our church as the little engine that could. We will continue to come up with creative ways to connect with people and share the gospel with them!
