PHILADELPHIA (BRN) – “Thank you so much for this grant…it was the only thing that made this event possible.” These are the heartfelt sentiments of Becca Rosenbaum, Vacation Bible School leader at Ridgeline Community Church in Telford, Pennsylvania. The church hosted just under 80 energetic kids each day during their recent VBS. Nearly 2/3 or 75% were visitors who lived outside of the community.

Each day was packed with songs, crafts, Bible lessons and games–putting the Gospel message on repeat.

Along with loading up with snack time supplies and organizing teaching and craft materials, prep for this weeklong event also included training every volunteer to share the Gospel on a child’s level. Staff had an opportunity to put that training to work on each day.

“We are hopeful that we made connections with people and they will start to attend our church in hope [of] leading them to Christ,” said Rosenbaum.

VBS is a crucial ministry for introducing children to Christ at an early age. It is widely known that nearly half of all Americans who make a decision for Christ do so before reaching age 13.

Please pray for our churches as they reach young people during this time of the year and stay tuned for more VBS stories!
