READING, Pa., (BRN) – Anastasis Fellowship Church (AFC) in Reading, Pennsylvania, is indeed grateful for God’s provision of a North Carolina mission team from Aberdeen Baptist Church, who came and served alongside us as we showed the love of Christ to the Antietam Valley community.

We knocked on over 500 doors and asked people if we can pray for them. We also handed out 2,600 door hangers advertising our Easter service and our Project Rise-Up, a new initiative which offers service to the community by doing minor repairs, yard work, trash clean up and/or small painting projects. It was truly a blessed time.

Members of AFC and the NC mission team knocked on over 500 doors in the Reading, Pa., area and asked people if they could pray for them.

As a result, AFC had five first-time guests join us for our first Easter worship experience. We are truly grateful for those God brings to us to share the gospel.

It’s pretty amazing how you can forget what house you’ve been to (this was our fourth time canvassing the community) but the people living there remember you and actually know you by name. I think that’s pretty cool! I heard Pastor Daryl say, “I knocked on a door, and the person knew Pastor Larry and AFC.”

I just absolutely love that. We pray that our partnership will continue for years to come as we obey the Great Commission!

I am currently speaking with another mission team from Clinton, North Carolina, about coming here for a week this summer to do either VBS or servant evangelism. I will share more details in the near future.

As we continue to pray for God’s favor, and as we stay focused on reaching people with the gospel, we want you to know you are in our prayers as well. I believe we are all like-minded followers of Christ who want people in our families, churches, communities, cities, country and world to know the love, forgiveness and grace of Christ. It’s up to the church to radically commit to do whatever it takes to reach the lost. We are in this together!
