WOODBURY HEIGHTS, N.J., (BRN) –  On Dec. 19, Iglesia Biblica La Verdad in Woodbury Heights, New Jersey, had the opportunity to host a Christmas dinner for the Hispanic community of Woodbury. The main purpose was to serve and share with our friends in town that Jesus is the real meaning of Christmas.

About 45 people accepted our invitation, and there were nine different countries represented. Some brought traditional Christmas dishes from their countries, so we had an abundance of delicious food to share. To break the ice and have fun, we prepared games involving adults and children. Everyone was enjoying a great time of fellowship and some of our members were able to share about our church during dinner at each table.

Pastor Sergio took time right after dinner to share the gospel message with a sketch board and paints. Four people responded to the gospel and put their trust in Christ as their Savior!

The children also had a special lesson about Christmas, and were given small gifts. Each person that came to the dinner left with a New Testament and bookmarks with Bible verses, everyone was also invited to join us for Sunday worship services. The ladies at our church had also prepared one of the walls of the room with Christmas decorations so people could take family pictures, this was an excellent idea as everyone wanted to have a nice picture taken to remember a wonderful night.

We give God the glory for such a special night and for those that came to Christ. It was very encouraging to see everyone from our church working hard to serve and reach those that need Jesus in Woodbury.

We had follow up conversations with all our friends that came to the dinner and many expressed how refreshing it was for them to celebrate Christmas with us and learn about Jesus. We pray that God will continue to bring many people in Woodbury to Him and use Iglesia Biblica La Verdad to keep proclaiming that only Jesus es Salvador!
