It seeks to amplify God’s voice in your life, amplify God’s voice on your campus, and amplify God’s voice throughout the world. Attendees will experience worship, teaching, activities, and fellowship with fellow students from around the region. Throughout the course of the weekend, they will be challenged to understand and share the gospel in deeper and more practical ways. Presenter: Min. Lawrence Lockett, Jr., Asst. Director/University Chaplain, Morgan State University, Baltimore
Lawrence Lockett, Jr. is an experienced educator, community leader and artist. He is currently serving as the assistant director/university chaplain at Morgan State University, preaching Sunday services, teaching Bible studies and guiding students on their spiritual journeys; helping them navigate the complexities of college life.
With over 20 years of experience in churches, teen centers & youth groups, volleying between Camden, N.J., Philadelphia and Baltimore, he has developed a passion for empowering young people and fostering their growth, both personally and academically. His commitment to mentorship and community engagement has positively impacted countless lives.
Mr. Lockett has also been a devoted hip-hop lyricist, producer, and urban missionary since the age of eighteen. His lyrical strokes paint meditative portraits of life’s bumpy roads and in-your-face reality. The moniker name, “Concepts,” derives from an idea or thinking pattern, which coincides with a heaven’s mentality. He creates songs about everyday life through the lens of a believer. With a hard-hitting yet soulful style that has become his trademark, he flips the script with something innovative that the music industry can adapt to.
Outside of his professional endeavors, Mr. Lockett cherishes his role as a husband and father to two miracle children; with miracle baby #3 coming in November. He believes that faith and family is the cornerstone of a fulfilling life and draws inspiration from his experiences at home to connect with and uplift the students he serves. With a unique blend of experience and artistry, Mr. Lockett continues to inspire those around him.
