Hey BRN Family, Elizabeth here, and it’s time for the May Top 5!
#1: In our nation, the first Thursday in May is dedicated as a National Day of Prayer. This year’s theme is “Glorify God among the nations – seeking Him in all generations” based on 1 Chronicles 16:24. We urge you to join in this 75th observance of the National Day of Prayer. More than that, we urge you to regularly pray for our nation and specifically our region of Pennsylvania/South Jersey. May the Lord be glorified through your prayers! Thank you.
#2: I urge you to sign up today for Serve Lehigh Valley, the BRN’s large-scale outreach effort in Allentown, Bethlehem, Easton, and Schnecksville, Pa., on June 26-67. This year’s event has over 50 projects, ranging from evangelism to block parties, to prayer walking and community beautification projects, and so much more. It is the perfect mission trip for your church! On Friday night of this event, volunteers will gather for “Rally in the Valley,” a free dinner, a worship celebration over Friday’s activities, and prayer for Saturday’s projects. Also, new this year, there are “Prayer” projects for people who want to pray onsite or at home over all the activities! Join us! Those who sign up by May 15 will receive Serve Lehigh Valley t-shirts, but after that date, you will get the generic t-shirt! Sign up today at servepasj.com.
#3: Did you know we are excited about your church’s outreach plans, too? The BRN team is praying for you! Do you need any assistance? Let us know! To remind you, the BRN offers evangelism grants to help support your church’s summer outreach and evangelistic efforts. You may apply for these grants at brnunited.org/grant. #4: On May 15, the Executive Board of the Baptist Resource Network will have its next meeting. Our Board is composed of both pastors and lay persons serving in BRN affiliated churches from all across our region. Would you please pray for this Board meeting and for our board members? #5: Speaking of prayer–did you catch the theme yet?–the BRN team is continuing its emphasis on prayer as we continue through the guide, “52 Weeks of Prayer.” You can access this resource for free at brnunited.org/prayer. This month’s topics include being a Light for Jesus, global partnerships, the Cooperative Program, and disciple-making.
