Hello, BRN Family, it’s great to be with you today!
There is an urgency now for God’s people to pray. Never has there been any movement of God in the history of Christendom apart from prayer. Today, I want to talk about why a movement of prayer must begin now and why prayer cannot wait.
Why a Movement of Prayer Must Begin Now:
There are moments in history when God’s people sense a holy restlessness—an awareness that what has been is no longer sufficient for what will be. These moments often precede movements of God, and they share one unmistakable characteristic: they are birthed in prayer.
Today, we are standing in such a moment.
Everywhere we look, we see people longing for hope, churches longing for renewal, and communities longing for healing. Programs alone cannot carry us forward. Strategies, while helpful, cannot produce spiritual awakening. And good intentions—no matter how earnest—cannot replace the power that only God supplies.
If we desire a movement of God, we must begin with a movement toward God. That movement is prayer.
Why Prayer Cannot Wait:
Prayer is not merely a spiritual discipline; it is the lifeline of God’s people. Scripture repeatedly shows that every great move of God begins when His people turn their faces toward Him with humility, dependence, and persistence.
Consider this:
- The early church prayed before the Holy Spirit fell in Acts 4: 29-31:“Now, Lord, consider their threats and enable your servants to speak the word with great boldness. Stretch out your hand to heal and perform signs and wonders through the name of your holy servant, Jesus. After they prayed, the place where they were meeting was shaken. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God boldly.”
- Daniel prayed before God revealed empires and delivered His people.
- Jesus prayed before choosing disciples, before miracles, and before the cross.
Prayer is not the warm-up for God’s work—prayer is God’s work. Jesus said in John 15:5; “apart from me you can do nothing.” When God’s people truly pray, heaven moves, hearts soften, and the impossible becomes possible.
We cannot afford to wait. Our families, our churches, and our communities need a praying people now.
Here is a question for you. Would you be willing to seriously join with others today in prayer, trusting God to move in hearts and lives of His people like never before?
