Precepts Brunch and Learn

Join us for an introduction to the Inductive Bible Study Method. We will have light snacks in the morning and lunch will be provided. Pastor’s Wife Lise Sentell of Living Faith Baptist Church, will teach women how to apply Bible study principles to their personal study and in teaching others.
Lise is a speaker, teacher, pastor’s wife, mother of two, and has been heavily involved in ministry. She loves to help people discover their identity in Christ, and come to know and love the Lord through Bible study, music, arts, hospitality and horses! Often found teaching, studying, rehearsing, cooking, mentoring, coordinating or spending time at the barn, Lise is passionate about bringing all aspects of life under the redemption and Lordship of Jesus Christ. The Inductive Bible Study includes:
1) Observation that establishes the content and context (with special attention to what is THERE, Instead of relying on our previous knowledge or understanding)
2) Interpretation, believing that the Spirit is our teacher and uses scripture to interpret scripture (this will potentially include learning how to do word studies and cross-referencing–again, staying within scripture.
3) Application for our life and faith, now that we’ve determined the context and meaning first! Personally, this method has changed how I read, study and approach scripture, because it strips me of my agenda, and also has helped me see red flags and recognize incorrect teaching of the Word, so readily available in our culture. I’ve seen it do the same for others, and look forward to sharing it.
