SERVE WILKES-BARRE/SCRANTON, PENNSYLVANIA

SW58-Knox Mine Disaster Tour and Block Party

WHO

Volunteers will serve with Plaid Community Church to reach out to residents in their area.

WHAT

Volunteers will assist Plaid Community Church in reaching out to the community with an event that looks back in history of the Knox mine disaster. This will include a tour with a tour guide pulling a wagon for those who can’t walk and presenting the documentary at the church. At the same time there will be a food truck group in the parking lot, with an ice cream free for all who stop. Next door in the field next to the church will be games for the kids and a corn hole tournament.

WHY

The church hopes to build community relationships and bring people to Jesus
