Since graduating from Liberty University with a degree in broadcast journalism\, he has been anchoring and reporting for television networks\, network affiliates and ministries. Along with his responsibility as associate executive director for the SBC of Virginia\, he is also the vice president of Innovative Faith Resources (a ministry-focused media marketing company) and an adjunct professor of digital media at Liberty University. Before that\, he was the communications director of the North American Mission Board. While at NAMB\, he and his team won two Emmy Awards for the 30-minute weekly missions TV program\, “On Mission Xtra.” \n\nShannon Baker\, BRN Director of Communications; Editor\, BRN United\nShannon Baker\, past president of the Baptist Communicators Association\, previously served as director of communications and editor of BaptistLIFE for the Baptist Convention of Maryland/ Delaware\, where she worked nearly 15 years\, initially as a correspondent when she and her husband Larry moved to Baltimore as North American Mission Board church planters. Earlier\, Shannon was director of public relations at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary after several years of corporate work in management\, technical writing and communications. She has been part of the Baptist Press coverage team for the SBC annual meeting for more than a dozen years.
