SUMMARY:PA/SJ WMU Annual Meeting
DESCRIPTION:About this Event:\nThe Pennsylvania/South Jersey WMU Annual Meeting is a one-day event that gathers Woman’s Missionary Union (WMU) leaders and representatives from across our two-state region as well as those passionate about missions to hear about what God is doing through missions locally and globally. The day will feature keynote speakers and mission-centered breakout sessions designed to encourage and educate on the importance of spreading the Gospel in our local context and to the ends of the earth. The PA/SJ WMU is a chapter of the Woman’s Missionary Union\, an entity of the Southern Baptist Convention. \nFor over 136 years\, Woman’s Missionary Union has helped Southern Baptists fulfill the Great Commission. WMU understands the challenges church leaders face — limited time\, resources\, and volunteers — when trying to mobilize their congregation for missions. But they also believe every church member is mandated by God to obey the Great Commission. \nAt this year’s WMU Annual Meeting\, guests will hear from keynote speaker Connie Dixon\, the 24th president of national WMU. The meeting will also include an International Mission study focusing on Brazil\, highlighting the work of the International Mission Board (IMB.) In addition\, participants will take part in a mission project benefiting Alta B.\, who was with us last March and currently serves in the Czech Republic. \nWe invite you to come\, learn\, and bring others from your church who have a heart for missions. We are also excited to once again offer a special track for middle and high school girls\, designed as a full day of mission education to help them grow and develop a missions mindset. Connie Dixon will spend time with the girls as well. Emily Fyfe will return to lead this mission track. Emily is a former missionary kid (MK) from Ukraine. \nWho’s Invited:\nPA/SJ WMU leaders and members\, young women interested in missions (6th-12th grade)\, anyone interested in learning more about WMU or missions. \nDate/Time:\nSaturday\, March 7\, 2026\, 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. \nLocation:\nRed Land Baptist Church \nAddress: 661 Big Spring Rd.\, New Cumberland\, PA \nKeynote Speaker:\nConnie Dixon\, President of National WMU\nConnie Dixon\, the 24th president of national WMU\, will be the keynote speaker for the 2026 WMU Annual Meeting. Connie is a native of New Mexico and has been a member of First Bap tist Church of Elida\, New Mexico\, since she professed her personal faith in Jesus at the age of nine. She grew up as a member of GA’s (Girls in Ac on) and later married an RA (Royal Ambassador.) Her husband Herschel serves actively with Disaster Relief. They have two daughters\, Kendra and Tammy\, and three grandchildren. \nIn 2023\, Connie authored the book It Became to Me a Joy: When God Shines Brightly through the Broken Places where she shares real and vulnerable stories of hardships and challenges. SUMMARY:PA/SJ WMU Annual Meeting
DESCRIPTION:The Annual WMU Meeting\, “The Joy of Serving\,” will be held on Saturday\, April 5\, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. at Red Land Baptist Church in New Cumberland\, Pennsylvania.  This will be a condensed gathering as the PA/SJ WMU transition from a November meeting to a spring meeting. \n\n\nWhile at Wrightsdale Baptist Church\, Alta Brandenberger was a GA and Acteen.\nAlta Brandenberger will be this year’s guest speaker.  Alta is a member at Wrightsdale Baptist Church (Peach Bottom\, Pa.) and was a GA and Acteen. She attended Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary\, receiving her master’s degree in cross-cultural counseling.  She will be going in the near future to serve in the Czech Republic as an IMB Journeyman missionary.  Her passion for missions is evident in her service and testimony. \n\n\n6th-12th grade girls are once again invited to come and experience a day of learning about missions.  WMU is excited to have an event track just for them with topics to help them grow and develop a mission mindset.  There are limited spaces available for the girl’s track. \n\n\nThe cost is $10.00 per person and brunch/lunch will be served.
