SUMMARY:Deacons' Training
DESCRIPTION:SPECIAL OPS IN SERVICE \nFeaturing four biblical essentials for ‘Deacons on Purpose’ as taught by Dr. Ryan Day of Wrightsdale Baptist Church \nAbout the Training:\n \nFeaturing A Deacon on Purpose\, written by Dr. Tony Wolfe \nA healthy deacon body is critical to the overall health of the church. When deacons serve biblically\, they advance the cause of Christ; when they do not\, they hinder it. A Deacon On Purpose outlines four essential commitments every deacon must make to serve Jesus’s church well\, in concert with biblical teaching. 1) Lead by Example. The deacon is the lead servant in the local church. He should strategically leverage relational influence to model faithful Christian living and service in the body of Christ. 2) Serve the People. A deacon who is above the people is below the office. The primary function of the office is to serve Christ’s people with an open heart and open hands. 3) Support the Pastor and Staff. Deacons are an extension of the pastor’s long arm of ministry. The two offices must work in concert with one another if either is to be effective. 4) Protect the Peace. Other than the gospel itself\, unity is the most precious thing a church can possess. Deacons must cultivate and guard peace with careful intentionality.  These four sessions are primarily derived from Acts 6:1-7\, a passage widely understood to have laid the foundation for the office of deacon in the local New Testament church. \n \nPresenter:\nDr. Ryan Day\, Lead Pastor of Wrightsdale Baptist Church\, Peach Bottom\, Pa.\nDR. RYAN DAY\, a native of Westminster\, Maryland\, came to Wrightsdale Baptist Church as Lead Pastor in 2020. Prior to Wrightsdale\, he served at Grace Baptist Church in Hazleton\, Pennysylvania for twenty years. Ryan is a 1998 graduate of Baptist Bible College (now Clarks Summit University) and 2005 graduate of Baptist Bible Seminary. He also holds a doctor of ministry degree from Baptist Bible Seminary. When he’s not ministering at the church\, enjoying time with his family\, or making plans for the next trip to Ocean City\, Maryland\, Ryan enjoys presidential biographies\, the Baltimore Ravens\, and playing guitar in praise and worship settings. He loves Lancaster County and is excited about “Accelerating Kingdom Movement” within the BRN. Ryan is married to Heather\, and they have five sons and one daughter. \n\n\nAbout the Materials:\n \nWho’s Invited:\nPastors\, current deacons\, and prospective deacons \nDates/Locations:\nChoose the location nearest you! \n\nSaturday\, April 11\, 9:30am – 12:30pm: BRN Training Center\, Harrisburg (4620 Fritchey St.\, Harrisburg\, PA 17109)\nSaturday\, May 2\, 9:30am – 12:30pm: Keystone Montgomeryville Warehouse (506 Stump Rd\, Montgomeryville\, Pa.)\nSaturday\, June 20\, 9:30am – 12:30pm: Rolling Hills Church (120 Gernert Dr\, Verona\, PA 15147)\n\nCost:\n$20 per person (covers lunch and materials) \nRegistration:\nClick here to register \nQuestions?\nContact Dr. Ryan Day at ryan@wrightsdale.org.

SUMMARY:The Disciple-Making Church Seminar
DESCRIPTION:Is your current discipleship plan working? Are your small groups producing results? Are disciples being reproduced? Are leaders trained and equipped to multiply more disciples? You want to see your church actively growing. The Disciple Making Church Seminar wants to help you. \nAbout the Seminar:\nThis seminar will be an interactive experience where pastors will learn from Impact Discipleship Ministries the four keys to structuring their church to make and multiply disciples of Jesus Christ. It will \nThis seminar will focus on the following areas: \nTHE MISSION: \nThe first portion of the seminar revolves around defining the mission Jesus left for us in the Great Commission: To make disciples. What is a disciple\, and why do we need to make them? \nTHE MODEL: \nThe second portion of the seminar points us toward the perfect model for disciple-makers: Jesus. We look at how he modeled disciple-making for His own disciples in His own ministry. \nTHE METHOD: \nThe final portion of the seminar shows you the methods Jesus used to multiply disciples during His ministry on earth and ensured that they would continue to multiply once He left. \nTHE TAKEAWAYS: \nYou’ll walk away with a full understanding of the target\, strategy\, environments\, and leadership development needed to create a sustainable disciple making ministry in your church. \nPresenters:\nFounder and Director Ken Adams\nKen Adams grew up in Stone Mountain\, Georgia and graduated from Southwestern Theological Seminary in May 1989 with a Master of Divinity. Ken was called as the first pastor of Crossroads Church\, Newnan in June 1989. Ken has a passion for being a disciple of Christ\, and pouring his life into others who have a desire to walk as Jesus walked. As a result of that passion\, spiritual growth became the number one goal for Crossroads. Crossroad’s objective for reaching that goal is the “Disciple Making Church Strategy\,” which revolves around making and multiplying disciples of Jesus Christ. \nFOUNDING IMPACT MINISTRIES: After searching the market and not finding adequate resources on disciple making to help achieve the spiritual growth goals of Crossroads\, Ken began writing his own curriculum. Crossroads began to use his resources in its small groups in the early 1990’s. His curriculum was so successful in achieving Crossroad’s goals\, Ken decided to make his resources available to other churches. Impact Discipleship Ministries\, Inc. was founded in 2002. Since that time\, churches across the U.S. and across the globe are actively using Impact’s resources.
\nThis seminar will focus on the following areas: \nTHE MISSION: \nThe first portion of the seminar revolves around defining the mission Jesus left for us in the Great Commission: To make disciples. Ken continues to lead training seminars on the Disciple Making Church strategy\, and continues to develop new resources to help churches and individuals develop fully trained disciples of Jesus Christ.  Ken and his wife\, Val\, live in Sharpsburg\, Georgia. \nConsultant and Coach Ron Cansler\nRon Cansler has been a pastor for 20 years and comes to Impact Ministries as the Executive Pastor of Global Impact with Crossroads Baptist Church in Newnan\, Ga. With his extensive experience\, Ron leads the Global Initiative to make disciples all over the world through church planting\, mission initiatives and church revitalization. SUMMARY:D-Life Bootcamp: PLAID Community Church
DESCRIPTION:The Return to Christ-Like Disciple-Making—It’s not a program; it’s a lifestyle.\nA D-Life Workshop based on the work of Bill Wilks (Founder of D-Life & Author of “The Greater Work”)\nwww.livethedlife.com \nTwo-thousand years ago\, by the Sea of Galilee\, Jesus launched a movement that forever changed the course of history. It’s time to reignite this movement. For Jesus and the early church\, disciple-making was not a program. It was a lifestyle. It as the one main thing Jesus taught them to do. With no buildings or budgets\, the early church grew rapidly because it knew how to make disciples who make disciples. Plan and simple\, the early church was a grassroots disciple-making movement. If the church today wants to reestablish itself as a powerful force on earth for the gospel of Christ\, it must return to this movement. The key to global evangelism is not the megachurch\, but the many churches of all sizes willing to rekindle the flames of a once powerful disciple-making movement. In this session\, we will unpack the core principle of this movement and how to rekindle it in your ministry. \nDAVID LUDWIG BIO\nDavid Ludwig\nAs Associate Director of Church Health and Discipleship for the Baptist Resource Network of Pennsylvania/South Jersey\, David Ludwig is passionate about disciple-making and equipping pastors and leaders to develop healthy\, disciple-making churches. He holds a Master of Arts degree from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville\, Kentucky; and a Bachelor of Science degree in religion from Liberty University\, in Lynchburg\, Virginia. \nThis event is for PLAID Community Church in Pittston\, Pa.

SUMMARY:D-Life Bootcamp: Gettysburg
DESCRIPTION:The Return to Christ-Like Disciple-Making—It’s not a program; it’s a lifestyle.\nby Bill Wilks (Founder of D-Life & Author of “The Greater Work”)\nwww.livethedlife.com \nTwo-thousand years ago\, by the Sea of Galilee\, Jesus launched a movement that forever changed the course of history. \nBILL WILKS BIO\nDr. Bill Wilks is the Lead Pastor of NorthPark Church in Trussville\, Alabama\, where he has served since 1999. He has a Doctor of Ministry degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and has frequently served as an Adjunct Professor at the New Orleans Baptist Seminary extension center in Birmingham\, Alabama. \nBill is also the founder and author of D-Life\, which exists to equip common people to be Christ-like disciple makers. He is the author of four D-Life Journals\, D-Life Online\, and his most recent book\, “The Greater Work–Disciple–Making. Anytime. Anywhere.” Bill and his wife\, Rondie\, have traveled extensively to train thousands of believers how to make disciples who make disciples. \n\nThis event is for the whole church! SUMMARY:Pivot: Leadership for the Next Chapter
DESCRIPTION:What if this season we’ve been going through is not an interruption but a disruption? What if it’s not a temporary time brought on by circumstances beyond our control\, but rather a transition brought about by the one Who is in control? If it’s a temporary interruption our goal is to get out of it as quickly as possible. If it’s a transitional disruption\, our goal is to get into it as deeply as God desires\, because in times of transition God catalyzes transformation to prepare us for the next chapter. We’ll spend time talking about leading in times of transition and disruption. We’ll ask the question\, “What’s next?” And we’ll give a model for leadership development in the next chapter. \nFeaturing Dan Nold\, lead pastor of Calvary Church\, State College\, Pa. \nPastor Dan has been married to Lynn for over 30 years. As much as he loves the church\, his most significant and enjoyable achievement has been partnering with Lynn to love and develop their four kids and now one kid-in-law: Sarah\, Katy (and her husband\, Josiah)\, Jake and Josh. Dan and Lynn came to State College and Calvary in 1994. Dan earned a Bachelor of Science in Speech Communication from Bethel University and a Master of Divinity from Bethel Seminary. Currently\, Dan is working on his Doctor of Ministry in Organic Leadership Development. Dan loves to preach\, develop leaders and strategize about the future of the church in the Centre region. Years ago\, Dan read a prayer by A.W. Tozer that he still prays consistently\, “Lord make me a man to whom you can entrust your glory.” That’s Dan’s greatest purpose. “I long to become a man to whom God can entrust his glory—a living display of the gospel of grace—to inflame a passion for Christ in others.” \nRegister

SUMMARY:REVIVE! Christ and His Church Virtual Conference
DESCRIPTION:God has a purpose for every church. There is much that He wants to do through each church. However\, it has been our experience that God gives each church and its leaders “crossroads moments” in their history where they must make decisions based on faith if they are to continue to be used to fulfill the purposes God has in mind for them. It has also been our experience that the current health of any church is a summation of the decisions made over many years.\nFeaturing Richard Blackaby and Mark Clifton\nBlackaby Ministries International (BMI)\, in partnership with the North American Mission Board\, is excited to bring “REVIVE: Christ and His Church” to the Baptist Resource Network of PA/SJ! Dr. Richard Blackaby\, author and president of Blackaby Ministries International\, and Dr. Mark Clifton of NAMB’s Legacy Church Planting will unpack several significant truths from the “Flickering Lamps” and “Reclaiming the Glory” books as well as from their extensive ministry with pastors and churches. \n \nThe virtual conference will begin at 8:30 am and conclude at 12:30 pm. \nThe cost of $10 includes the two featured books. \nWhether your church is experiencing positive spiritual health or finds itself struggling\, it is vitally important to be oriented to the Headship of Christ. We encourage you to set aside time to attend the entire gathering in September\, determined to park your heart before God\, allowing Him to speak to you in fresh and transforming ways. Bring several of your key leaders as well so that together\, you can experience God’s heart for you and your church! \nTestimonies from precious conference attendees:\nThe overwhelming response from the pastors was that they felt that every pastor in our association needed to hear what Richard Blackaby and Mark Clifton had to share. The Biblical challenge delivered by Richard Blackaby was powerful! The practical insights from Mark Clifton pertaining to the “nuts and bolts” of church revitalization was extremely insightful. The message of the Revive Conference is one that needs to be delivered to the church in North America! \nRevive\, there couldn’t be a more perfect name for this one day conference. I came expecting to get some good information on how to revive my congregation\, which I received\, but I came away with so much more. I came away with my own soul being revived. \nThe main thing I brought back with me from the conference was hope. \nSchedule/Topics:\n8:30–9:30 a.m.: Welcome from Barry Whitworth followed by Message by Richard Blackaby: \n “Christ’s Presence in the Church” – What difference does it make in the spiritual health of every church when we recognize and celebrate the presence of the Risen Christ in and among us? \n9:45–10:45 a.m.: Message by Mark Clifton \n “10 Attitude Adjustments Struggling Churches Must Make to be Healthy and Effective” – Mark will address essential areas of focus that pastors/church leaders can address to see the church move from being plateaued or in decline to renewed life and spiritual vitality. \n11:00–11:30 a.m.: 30 minutes of Q/A with Richard Blackaby/Mark Clifton \n11:45 a.m.–12:30 p.m.: Message by Richard Blackaby \n“Taking Your Leadership to the Next Level” – What more does God have in mind for your life as a leader that will  both honor Him and bless those you lead? God always wants to take our lives as leaders to the next level – what could that look like for your life as a leader? \nPlease note: Registration will close at 100 people. \n  \nRegister Now
