DESCRIPTION:BRN’s Woven Women will host a  Leadership Development Conference on November 12\, 9 am-3 pm for women in any leadership position in their church\, including pastors’ wives. The conference will help women develop leadership skills and connect with other women who are leaders in their churches. \nKeynote Speaker\, Jenny Provin:\nThe conference will feature Jenny Provin\, Certified Leadership Coach and Consultant with the South Carolina Baptist Convention. Jenny is passionate about equipping leaders in the local church. While serving on a church staff\, she was introduced to coaching and experienced the way it helped transform and strengthen her relationships and leadership. In 2020\, she became a certified coach and now uses those skills plus her 20 years of experience serving in volunteer and paid staff roles in the local church\, to develop materials and train leaders to lead in their circles of influence. She serves as a consultant with the South Carolina Baptist Convention and has helped develop coaching curriculum and speak at trainings for local church leaders throughout the state of S.C. Jenny is married to Chris and is Mom to Abby\, Tyler\, Krista\, and Adam. Some of her favorite things are her dog Buddy\, the beach\, and soft serve ice cream with rainbow sprinkles. \nConference Topics:\nCrucial Conversations (How to Ask Powerful Questions)\nDo you ever feel misunderstood or that people don’t understand your intentions in crucial conversations in ministry? You want to encourage\, help\, and lead others to solutions that cause change and freedom\, but people walk away feeling judged\, criticized\, or hurt? During this session we will focus on a new style of communication that will transform the way you approach those conversations. \nDrainers & Gainers\nWe all have areas of leadership that bring us joy\, life\, and we genuinely love! This session will help participants identify the things that bring them life and the things that sap their energy. SUMMARY:Contagious Joy FREE Refresh Ministry Wife Retreat
DESCRIPTION:What is a “Refresh Retreat”?\nOur goal: Restore\, Refuel\, Refresh and then return home to serve with a Renewed passion for the high call of being in Ministry and being a Ministry Wife! \nWe here at Contagious Joy understand the demands placed on the ministry wife. Because of this\, we have created a getaway just for this woman. A woman who might need someone on one time away without the distractions of the “glass house.” A time for her to meet other women just like her. An iron sharpening iron time where she can develop like-minded friendships. We have also developed a schedule that allows her to meet with the Lord. She will be encouraged to reflect\, to journal\, to pray and seek a refreshing and renewal so that she can return home and resume her work in her family\, her church\, and her community. \n\nThese retreats are three days and three nights. Usually\, they begin on a Wednesday at noon and end on Saturday at noon\, occasionally we will have to adjust the days to accommodate schedules.\nThey are FREE to the ministry wives who attend.\nNo more than ten ministry wives in attendance and the best number is between 4-8 women.\nThe women must pay their way to get there and to get home.\nOnce they arrive\, there is no need for any money. The Ministry Wife pays for nothing else. Our goal is to bless their socks off! They cannot lift a finger. We serve them in a way that allows them to meet each other\, but most of all meet with their ABBA!\nSubmit a paragraph and tell us why you need a “CJ4H Refresh Retreat” in 2020!\nWhat is a “Refresh Retreat”? Our goal: Restore\, Refuel\, Replenish & Refresh and then return home to serve with a Renewed passion for the high call of being in Ministry and being a Ministry Wife! DESCRIPTION:The Invisible Partner – When Ministry Overshadows Our Marriage\n“The pressures of life in ministry can place a lot stress on a marriage. How can we keep our marriages healthy and serve out of a place of strength?” \nSome topics include: \n\nManaging the expectations of others\nSetting boundaries – when to say no\nProtecting and nurturing our spouse\nUnspoken wounds from the work\nThe importance of playing together\nHis needs / Her needs in light of the Pastorate\n\nFeaturing Tom and Bethann Miller \nTom is a marriage and family therapist and elder in his home church. Bethann is a licensed chaplain and biblical counselor. They are the founders of Safe Place Ministry\, which provides care for pastors\, missionaries and ministry leaders here in the U.S. and globally. They met while serving in Africa and have travelled to over 50 countries for ministry. They reside in Lehigh Valley Pennsylvania where they enjoy their two cats\, football and their motorcycles. \nThis intensive will be $175 per couple. This fee will be waived for any participating BRN pastor (but only one pastor couple per church\, please).* Due to COVID-19\, it is now only open to 6 couples. After this\, registrants will be added to a wait list.* Participants will need to secure their own lodging either at our preferred hotel\, Hampton Inn Harrisburg-East (Hershey Area)\, or another nearby hotel. \nThank you for your interest! Whitney’s first book\, Sick of Me (B & H Publishers)\, and Bible study with video curriculum\, We Over Me (LifeWay)\, were released in March of 2019. \nAs a Bible study geek\, Whitney’s delight is to dig into God’s Word for profound yet practical truth. A communicator at heart\, Whitney comes alive sharing those truths with any gal who will give her even a few minutes. WMU invites all children in grades 1–6 to participate on Saturday\, February 15\, 2020. (Note: Children’s Missions Day can be held any day of the year!) \nFrom feeding hungry people to visiting shut-ins\, boys and girls follow God’s command to “put your love into action” (1 John 3:18). Church groups create projects that meet needs in their own communities. WMU created Children’s Missions Day to move children out of their churches and into their communities to do missions. The first Children’s Missions Day was in 2008. Since then\, thousands of people have taken part in this special day. \n*You may have noticed we’ve recently changed the name of this event from Children’s Ministry Day to Children’s Missions Day. Don’t worry — this is not a typo! We’ve put plenty of thought and prayer into this change.
