MOTHER’S DAY MOMENTS:

On Sunday, May 10, many of our churches across Pennsylvania/South Jersey honored the moms in their church for Mother’s Day! From fun photos to special recognitions, BRN churches made sure all types of mothers – biological, adopted, and spiritual – felt the love! Moms, we are so thankful for you! Below are just a few moments from Mother’s Day across PA/SJ.

Calvary Christian Church

During their Mother’s Day service, Calvary Christian Church in Philadelphia awarded Rita Mitchell with their annual Mother of the Year Award. They also recognized Deaconess Nadra Washington and Honoree Sister Alista Stevenson. Pastor Robert Fontell then encouraged the church with a special Mother’s Day message. 

Steel City Church

On Mother’s Day Sunday, Steel City Church in Pittsburgh provided a Mother’s Day themed photo booth for families to capture a memorable moment with mom! 

Philadelphia Bible Church International

Philadelphia Bible Church International honored the moms in their church family by recognizing them in front of the church and blessing them with a Mother’s Day gift. 

First Baptist Church of Delaware

During their Mother’s Day service, First Baptist Church of Delaware in New Castle, Delaware, celebrated baby dedications. The church shared on their Facebook page that, “there is no greater joy than watching our families grow in faith. This Mother’s Day, we were honored to stand with these parents as they dedicated their little ones to the Lord.” 

Great Commission Church

Over Mother’s Day weekend, Great Commission Church (GCC) in Philadelphia hosted their first Denim and Pearls Mother’s Day Tea. The day was filled with lots of smiles, laughter, and encouragement for the women of GCC. The church also had a special time of honoring First Lady Kim Anderson.

Redeeming Grace Church blesses community with free oil changes

On Saturday, May 9, Redeeming Grace Church in Bethel Park, Pa., served its community by offering free oil changes to anyone and everyone! The church had dozens of people come out to receive an oil change and dozens of volunteers who served. What a wonderful way to serve your neighbors!

Pittsburgh Send Network planters connect with Saluda Baptist Association leaders

At the beginning of May, Pittsburgh Send City Missionary Zakk Roberts and church planters a part of Send Network Pittsburgh hosted leaders from the Saluda Baptist Association (South Carolina). The heart of the trip was connection.

Planters and Saluda Baptist leaders spent time together touring the city and enjoying a Pittsburgh Pirates game. Later, the Saluda leaders sat down with some of Pittsburgh’s newest church planters and heard their stories. We are so thankful for this connection and for our partners at the Saluda Baptist Association!

Baptisms:

Riverbend Community Church baptizes six on Mother’s Day

Riverbend Community Church in Bethlehem, Pa., celebrated six public professions of faith and baptisms on Mother’s Day (May 10.) This Sunday was historical for Riverbend because it was the first time they baptized someone in a wheelchair. Praise the Lord for these brothers and sisters in Christ and for all He is doing through Riverbend Community Church!

Greencastle Baptist Church celebrates God’s faithfulness through baptisms and more

The past few weeks at Greencastle Baptist Church in Greencastle, Pa., have been extra special as the church has experienced powerful reminders of God’s faithfulness.

Recently, the church celebrated a baby dedication, prayed over one of their own who will be serving in the military, and rejoiced over three baptisms! Praise the Lord for how He continues to change lives, call people forward, and draw hearts closer to Him at Greencastle Baptist.
