Hey BRN Family, Elizabeth here, and it’s time for the July Top 5!
#1: Wow! I have to tell you: BRN’s large-scale outreach effort, Serve Lehigh Valley, was so powerful this year! This event on June 26-27 had over 50 projects and over 540 volunteers from six different states, 20 community partners, and 36 churches. Altogether, these missionaries gave 3,655 volunteer hours to make a difference in the Valley. Thank you, thank you, thank you! #2: Registration for the October 6 Accelerate Conference will open on July 15. To be held at the Sheraton Harrisburg-Hershey Hotel in Harrisburg, this year’s conference will feature the theme, “Bold Impact,” with keynote speakers Dr. Barry Whitworth, BRN’s Executive Director, and several of our own pastors and ministry leaders: Kyle Canty, T.J. Freeman, Brian Musser, and Zakk Roberts. We also will host several breakout sessions, worship led by students from Lancaster Bible College, and two special bonuses! On the evening before the conference, Travelers Church Pastor Wes Winebarger will host a preconference session on prayer. A Tuesday morning breakfast will feature Pa Family Institute and Communio, a ministry dedicated to helping churches strengthen marriages and relationships. Learn more at acceleratepasj.com.
#3: This summer, the Baptist Resource Network will host an Open House to dedicate the newly renovated Harrisburg Mission House. Guests will also tour the BRN’s Guest House and Hub office. The Harrisburg Mission House will be dedicated in honor of the meaningful service and renovation work of Dewey and Kathie Aiken of Baptists on Mission as well as their fellow N.C. Baptist churches. #4: Is it time to refocus? Do you need to refresh or recharge your passion for prayer and ministry, and fellowship with like-minded pastors in your area? The BRN has partnered with Strategic Renewal and 6:4 Fellowship to host three regional “RECLAIM” gatherings for pastors and elders. You may attend a gathering at Grace Baptist Church on Aug. 25, Carlisle Baptist Church on Aug. 26, or Winfield Baptist Church on Aug. 27. Learn more at brnunited.org/reclaim.
#5: As always, the BRN team is continuing its emphasis on prayer as we continue through the guide, “52 Weeks of Prayer.” This month’s topics include continued Serve Lehigh Valley transformational responses, leadership development, biblical stewardship, pastoral wellness and respite, and health and unity for the BRN team.
