Sending Celebrations are a time to commission new missionaries who are furthering the vision of reaching all peoples with the gospel of Jesus Christ. \nConsidering the necessary cancellation of the SBC Annual Meeting in Orlando\, Florida\, where the Sending Celebration was to take place\, IMB has moved the celebration to an online event on June 9 at 7 p.m. (EDT). \nFifty-nine new missionaries and two who were appointed in January will serve within each of IMB’s nine global affinities: the Americas; Central Asia; Deaf; East Asia; Europe; Northern Africa and the Middle East; South Asia; Southeast Asia; and Sub-Saharan Africa. \nJoin the Facebook Live event on June 9 at 7 p.m. EDT on IMB’s Facebook and Vimeo pages. You and your church will have the opportunity to hear the stories of how God has called these missionaries into His service. DESCRIPTION:2020 State Missions Offering Goal: $30\,000\nThe State Missions Offering is an annual observance in Baptist Resource Network (BRN)-affiliated churches that highlights what God is doing across Pennsylvania and South Jersey. Each summer\, local congregations learn about\, pray for and give to support special ministries\, outreach projects and other initiatives\, such as collegiate ministries\, volunteer ministries\, disaster relief\, and emergency funding for pastors\, which are uniquely connected to PA/SJ Baptists and not funded through regular giving streams. \nFourteen million people across Pennsylvania and Southern New Jersey do not have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ\, which makes the work of expanding the Kingdom through the BRN and its churches crucial. To that end\, every year\, Baptists across the BRN pray for and give financially to expand God’s Kingdom work right here in our own backyards. \nNote: Each church may choose to observe the Week of Prayer and Offering for the Baptist Resource Network at any time\, but two dates have been added to the calendar: the traditional timing during the week after Labor Day or an alternate week of the first full week of August. DESCRIPTION:2020 State Missions Offering Goal: $30\,000\nThe State Missions Offering is an annual observance in Baptist Resource Network (BRN)-affiliated churches that highlights what God is doing across Pennsylvania and South Jersey. Each summer\, local congregations learn about\, pray for and give to support special ministries\, outreach projects and other initiatives\, such as collegiate ministries\, volunteer ministries\, disaster relief\, and emergency funding for pastors\, which are uniquely connected to PA/SJ Baptists and not funded through regular giving streams. \nFourteen million people across Pennsylvania and Southern New Jersey do not have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ\, which makes the work of expanding the Kingdom through the BRN and its churches crucial. To that end\, every year\, Baptists across the BRN pray for and give financially to expand God’s Kingdom work right here in our own backyards. \nNote: Each church may choose to observe the Week of Prayer and Offering for the Baptist Resource Network at any time\, but two dates have been added to the calendar: the traditional timing during the week after Labor Day or an alternate week of the first full week of August. Bethann is a licensed chaplain and biblical counselor. They are the founders of Safe Place Ministry\, which provides care for pastors\, missionaries and ministry leaders here in the U.S. and globally. They met while serving in Africa and have travelled to over 50 countries for ministry. They reside in Lehigh Valley Pennsylvania where they enjoy their two cats\, football and their motorcycles. \nThis intensive will be $175 per couple. This fee will be waived for any participating BRN pastor (but only one pastor couple per church\, please).* Due to COVID-19\, it is now only open to 6 couples. DESCRIPTION:What is a “Refresh Retreat”?\nOur goal: Restore\, Refuel\, Refresh and then return home to serve with a Renewed passion for the high call of being in Ministry and being a Ministry Wife! \nWe here at Contagious Joy understand the demands placed on the ministry wife. Because of this\, we have created a getaway just for this woman. A woman who might need someone on one time away without the distractions of the “glass house.” A time for her to meet other women just like her. An iron sharpening iron time where she can develop like-minded friendships. We have also developed a schedule that allows her to meet with the Lord. She will be encouraged to reflect\, to journal\, to pray and seek a refreshing and renewal so that she can return home and resume her work in her family\, her church\, and her community. \n\nThese retreats are three days and three nights. Usually\, they begin on a Wednesday at noon and end on Saturday at noon\, occasionally we will have to adjust the days to accommodate schedules.\nThey are FREE to the ministry wives who attend.\nNo more than ten ministry wives in attendance and the best number is between 4-8 women.\nThe women must pay their way to get there and to get home.\nOnce they arrive\, there is no need for any money. The Ministry Wife pays for nothing else. Our goal is to bless their socks off! They cannot lift a finger. DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text font_size=”16″]OneDay·OneFocus is an exciting new virtual training event for women in ministry made possible by the unique circumstances of 2020! As colleagues from several state conventions discussed the challenge presented by having to cancel in-person trainings this fall\, the idea for OneDay·OneFocus was born. \nBased on Ephesians 4:1-16\, the goal of OneDay·OneFocus is to help women’s ministry leaders\, women in ministry\, missionary sisters and church planting wives understand while we all have differing roles in Kingdom work\, our aim is the same: make disciples. Susie Hawkins is the keynote speaker and Emily Rhyder from Providence Baptist Church in Raleigh will lead worship.  \nWomen’s ministry consultants from many state conventions will lead the breakout sessions. Breakout sessions will focus in the areas of disciple-making\, spiritual disciplines\, leadership\, ministry in a COVID-19 context and the needs of women. In addition\, participants will have opportunity to hear from IMB missionaries and NAMB church planter wives about their work and opportunities for partnership. Representatives from the women’s programs of the six Southern Baptist seminaries will also participate to share with leaders what they offer women’s ministry leaders.
