SUMMARY:Disaster Relief Appreciation Day
DESCRIPTION:Whenever there is a disaster\, Southern Baptist Disaster Relief (SBDR) volunteers are often quickly on the scene—and they remained long after news cameras left town. As the third-largest disaster response team in the nation\, this network of state-based volunteers teams does more than just clean up; they bring the healing of Christ to those whose lives have been shattered. \nPray for those affected and those who will serve them. Give to support state SBDR teams who are being the hands and feet of Jesus to hurting people.

SUMMARY:March for Life
DESCRIPTION:WASHINGTON (BP) – The March for Life originally scheduled Jan. 29 in Washington has been redesigned as a virtual event only\, March for Life President Jeanne Mancini announced Friday (Jan. 15). \n“In light of the fact that we are in the midst of a pandemic which may be peaking\, and in view of the heightened pressures that law enforcement officers and others are currently facing in and around the Capitol\, this year’s March for Life will look different\,” Mancini said. “The annual rally will take place virtually and we are asking all participants to stay home and to join the march virtually.” \nMancini will still invite a “small group of pro-life leaders from across the country to march in Washington\, D.C.\,” she said. “These leaders will represent pro-life Americans everywhere who\, each in their own unique ways\, work to make abortion unthinkable and build a culture where every human life is valued and protected.” \nSouthern Baptist Convention President J.D. Greear was still expected to speak\, but details were not available at press time. In December\, Greear was announced as the first SBC president to speak at the event\, and was to join celebrities and leaders including Tim Tebow\, Benjamin Watson and Jim Daly. \n“The protection of all of those who participate in the annual march\, as well as the many law enforcement personnel and others who work tirelessly each year to ensure a safe and peaceful event\, is a top priority of the March for Life\,” Mancini said Friday. “We are profoundly grateful for the countless women\, men\, and families who sacrifice to come out in such great numbers each year as a witness for life – and we look forward to being together in person next year. \n“As for this year’s march\, we look forward to being with you virtually.” \nThe march has taken place in Washington since 1974\, following the 1973 Roe v. Wade decision that legalized abortion in the U.S. Since that time\, the march has grown globally to include hundreds of thousands of participants. \n– Diana Chandler is Baptist Press’ senior writer.

SUMMARY:George Liele Church Planting\, Evangelism\, and Missions Sunday
DESCRIPTION:February 7\, 2021 is a day to honor those like George Liele who have gone before and faithfully said “yes” to God’s call to go make disciples of every nation. Acknowledged as the first Baptist missionary from America\, George’s legacy includes the first African American church plant in North America and one in Jamaica. In addition\, he cultivated a significant ministry among slave populations in Jamaica where he established the first black Baptist efforts. During his time of active mission work hundreds came to know Jesus. Thirty years after he passed away there were more than 20\,000 believers in Jamaica\, largely due to his faithfulness. \nOn this Sunday churches are encouraged to find local opportunities to engage in service\, evangelism\, and prayer together as we continue to consider and engage in God’s call to advance the kingdom today. \nDownload resources at https://www.imb.org/heroesoffaith.

SUMMARY:The Equality Act: Threatening Your Freedom Webinar
DESCRIPTION:The deceptively named “Equality Act” poses a devastating and unprecedented threat to religious freedom. \nIf this federal bill is passed\, it could forbid your church and other religious nonprofits from requiring employees to live out religious beliefs about marriage\, sexual morality\, and the distinction between the sexes. Additionally\, your church could also be forced to open sex-specific facilities such as locker rooms or restrooms to members of the opposite sex. \nThose in your congregation could also be impacted – business owners could be forced to include “sex-reassignment” surgeries in their health plans and creative professionals could be forced to promote messages or celebrate events that violate their beliefs. \nThese are just a few of the potential harms of the Equality Act. \nIt’s clear that this legislation is a threat to religious freedom for millions of Americans\, and we want to make sure you are informed. Join our partner\, ADF Church Alliance\, for a webinar on Friday\, February 12. \nThey will share more information about potential impacts for your church and those in your congregation. There will also be an opportunity to ask questions and hear how you can be as proactive and prepared as possible. \nFree Webinar\nThe Equality Act: Threatening Your Freedom\nFriday\, February 12\, noon\nSpace is limited – register today! \n  \nREGISTER

SUMMARY:Children's Missions Day
DESCRIPTION:Soar to new heights\, overcome old obstacles\, and be encouraged to live out God’s call! Join us this year as we learn what it means to be “Unstoppable” for Children’s Missions Day 2021. \nWHY PARTICIPATE IN CHILDREN’S MISSIONS DAY?\nWhy should churches participate in Children’s Missions Day? It’s motivational. It’s easy. And it works! \nChildren’s Missions Day is motivational! \nChildren’s Missions Day is a great way to get the children in your church motivated and engaged in mission action in their own community. What better way to get them motivated than to help them to see that they are joining thousands of other children across North America to minister to people with the love of Jesus? \nImagine the impact the church of Jesus Christ could have in North America if children everywhere lead their entire church family to minister in their communities!  \n  \nDownloadable resources can be found here.

SUMMARY:Racial Reconciliation Sunday
DESCRIPTION:“For he is our peace\, who made both groups one and tore down the dividing wall of hostility. In his flesh\, he made of no effect the law consisting of commands and expressed in regulations\, so that he might create in himself one new man from the two\, resulting in peace. He did this so that he might reconcile both to God in one body through the cross by which he put the hostility to death” (Ephesians 2:14-16 CSB). \n\nWe are committed to upholding the human dignity of every individual and advancing the cause of racial reconciliation. The gospel\, at its core\, is a message of reconciliation (2 Cor. 5:18-21)\, in which we are called to love one another (1 John 4:20-21) since “Christ is all and in all” (Col. 3:11).

SUMMARY:Webinar: The Equality Act and the LGBTQ Movement-Some of the Biggest Threats to Religious Liberty
DESCRIPTION:One of the biggest social and governmental threats to biblical churches\, schools\, colleges\, ministries\, and nonprofits is the sexual revolution and all of its implications. Currently the U.S. Congress is considering a bill called the Equality Act\, and President Biden has called it an agenda priority in his first 100 days. While this bill can\, on the surface\, look appealing and helpful it will end up being harmful for the Christian community at large and could pressure many to either abandon their biblical moral and gospel convictions or face government sanction. There’s a very real threat to our favorite ministries and organizations that are doing incredible gospel and humanitarian work – work that we should all want to protect. \nHow should pastors\, and church\, ministry and cultural leaders think about it\, talk about it\, and address it? How do we love our neighbor while still standing against harmful legislation and policies? \nThe Church Ambassador Network and the Pennsylvania Family Institute will host a webinar with two of the foremost Christian thinkers of the evangelical world\, Dr. Andrew T. Walker and Dr. Carl Trueman\, on Tuesday\, February 16\, at 2 p.m. (ET) to discuss and consider the threat and what can be done about it. \nDr. Andrew T. Walker is professor of Christian ethics and apologetics and associate dean at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary\, author of numerous books including God and the Transgender Debate\, and renowned writer and speaker. \nDr. Carl Trueman is one of the foremost Christian voices and accomplished church historian\, professor of biblical and religious studies at Grove City College and former professor at Westminster Theological Seminary\, and author of over a dozen books including The Rise and Triumph of the Modern Self. \nREGISTER
