PHILADELPHIA (BRN) – This year marked Bedrock Church Fishtown’s third annual Serve Philly outreach.
Each year we’ve seen the impact of the outreach and grow in meaningful ways. This year, we were able to serve across multiple neighborhoods, including Kensington, Fishtown, and Port Richmond.
In Kensington, we hosted two days of ministry. On Friday, we served meals at McPherson Square, offering food and care to those experiencing homelessness. On Saturday, we partnered with The Table ministry for a special outreach event where the gospel was proclaimed, meals were provided and people received haircuts, new clothing and medical attention.
Across both days, more than 500 people were served.
In Fishtown, we teamed up with a local neighborhood association to clean and restore a community park. As part of that effort, our team also handed out water ice, invited people to church and shared the good news of the Gospel.

In Port Richmond, our team joined a neighborhood-led cleanup initiative, continuing what has become a regular rhythm of caring for and investing in that community.
Finally, we sent a team to AlphaCare Pregnancy Center, where volunteers supported the staff by folding and sorting clothing donations and assisting with other important projects.
We estimate that a total of 700 people were served as a result of the weekend.
Additionally, the Gospel was shared in multiple ways. It was preached at our event on Saturday, and we saw a couple respond to that. It was also shared through individual conversations.
